Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 1, 2026
EraseMySoul is a privacy tool, so we hold ourselves to a simple standard: collect as little as possible, store even less, and never sell anything. This policy explains exactly what happens to your data.
What we do not collect or store
- Your email address. When you run a breach scan, your email is sent once to a third-party breach-lookup API to get results, then discarded. We do not log it or save it.
- Your scan results. Results are returned directly to your browser and not retained on our servers.
- Passwords. The password checker hashes your input in your browser and only sends the first five characters of the hash to a third-party service. Your password never reaches us or leaves your device in full.
- Your name, address, or letter details. The information you type into the CCPA request builder is stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and is never transmitted to us.
What we do store
- An anonymous counter. We keep a single running total of how many people have completed an opt-out email through the site. It is just a number — it contains no personal information and cannot identify you.
- Standard server logs. Our web server may briefly record request metadata (such as IP address and timestamp) for security and abuse prevention. We do not use these for tracking or advertising.
Cookies and tracking
We use no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics or trackers. The site uses your browser's localStorage only to remember your removal checklist and the details you enter, for your convenience. You can clear this at any time from within the Removal Center or your browser settings.
Third-party services
To provide the scan we send queries to breach-intelligence providers (XposedOrNot) and, for the password checker, the Have I Been Pwned range API. When you send an opt-out email, it goes directly from your own mail application to the data broker — we are not a party to that message.
Your rights
Because we do not hold personal data about you, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold information about you, or you have a privacy question, contact privacy@erasemysoul.com.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
